Kindergarten & Grade 1

Two essential subjects.
One connected learning experience.

Two ready-to-pilot curriculum levels in Mathematics and Reading / English Language Arts. Select Kindergarten or Grade 1 for your home, co-op, or learning group.

01 / Mathematics

Understand how numbers work.

A progression intended to develop early number sense, reasoning, mathematical language, and confidence through guided practice.

  • Counting & number sense
  • Patterns
  • Early operations
  • Shapes & reasoning
Level 01
Number sense & early reasoning

Children count, compare, and spot patterns using visual models, then put their thinking into words. Early addition and subtraction ideas and reasoning about shapes grow out of hands-on, guided practice.

Level 02
Number relationships & problem-solving

Learners work with larger numbers and the relationships between them, building fluency with addition and subtraction. Word problems and visual models help them choose a strategy and explain why it works.

02 / Reading & Language Arts

Build the foundations of reading.

Structured opportunities to connect sounds and letters, practice early reading skills, grow vocabulary, and make meaning from text.

  • Phonological awareness
  • Phonics foundations
  • Vocabulary
  • Comprehension
Level 01
Sound–letter connections & beginning reading

Children learn to hear and play with the sounds in words, link those sounds to letters, and blend them to read their first words. New vocabulary grows through conversation and shared reading.

Level 02
Phonics, reading practice & early comprehension

Phonics extends to longer, more complex words while regular reading practice builds accuracy and fluency. Children begin talking about what they read and answering questions to grow early comprehension.

Kindergarten and Grade 1 curriculum content is ready for pilot use. Final pilot packaging, format, and support arrangements will be confirmed with participants.

Why the Intellect approach is different

The Intellect Embedded Repetition System

Meet the Intellect Embedded Repetition System—the learning sequence at the heart of our curriculum. New skills return at purposeful intervals, giving children fresh opportunities to practice, connect ideas, and build lasting understanding.

in the first lesson

Stage 01: Learn & reinforce

Introduce a new idea, practice with guidance, reinforce it hands-on, and finish with a quick understanding check.

First reinforcement happens right away

about 1–2 lessons later

Stage 02: Revisit soon

Bring the skill back through a different exercise or context—so it is more than a one-time answer.

Practice in a new context

about 2 weeks later

Stage 03: Strengthen the skill

Use short reviews and clear progress checks to reinforce earlier learning and spot gaps before they grow.

Notice and address gaps

about 2 months later

Stage 04: Apply with confidence

Use the familiar skill again in larger tasks and combinations with new topics, building more flexible understanding.

Connect old and new knowledge

Families and educators don't have to invent a review schedule: revisiting earlier concepts is built into the Intellect learning sequence.

Frequently asked questions

Are Kindergarten and Grade 1 both available?

Yes. Both Kindergarten and Grade 1 Math and Reading / English Language Arts curriculum levels are available for pilot implementation. These are academic subject programs, not full all-subject grade-level packages.

Can I join a pilot for either grade?

Yes. Both Kindergarten and Grade 1 are ready for pilot use. Choose your preferred grade when requesting participation; package pricing and delivery terms will be confirmed before enrollment.

Can a school or co-op pilot both levels?

Yes. Organizations may request Kindergarten, Grade 1, or both. We will agree on the appropriate group size, implementation format, and teaching support with each partner.

Can a homeschool co-op share Intellect with its families?

Yes. We welcome discussions with communities that want to host a demonstration or offer their members the option to join a parent-led pilot. Families would not be required to adopt a single curriculum.

Can a microschool use Intellect alongside its current curriculum?

We are open to short, focused Math or Reading pilots that complement the school's existing model. Exact implementation will be discussed with each partner.

Can my Florida scholarship pay for the curriculum?

Eligibility depends on the scholarship program, allowable expenses, available funds, and the relevant purchasing process. Intellect has not announced a confirmed direct-payment arrangement through MyScholarShop.
